Something that now attracts both guys and girls is shopping and they’ve inculcated this into the Stardoll.com website where you can shop and pick up whatever you like from an entire collection of designer wear. Of course whatever you buy isn’t tangible but you can use it to dress the doll of your choice. The ‘range’ of clothing isn’t orthodox, in so far as it is not limited to just garments and apparel. Along with the clothes there are shoes, accessories and jewelry to choose from. For instance you can shop for various earrings and necklaces at the Heidi Klum shop. There is also a DKNY shop which showcases apparel that is a direct imitation of many real life creations. The shop has mannequins who sport short dresses and are tricked out with fashionable footwear and the appropriate accessories.

Visitors at the site though can only window shop. To make a purchase you need to be a registered member and that you can do so for free. You are then presented with a customizable avatar. It is up to you then to make it resemble you to the nearest feature. After this is complete you can go to the mall by clicking on the ‘shop’ tab and a virtual mall opens up in front of you. The mall has four levels and each level contains different brands. These brands are classified as starFashion, starBeauty and starSparkles. Shopping here is extremely involving as your doll is always on the left and you may drag and drop items onto it to see what it would look like and then make the purchase if you think it suits you. But be warned. Virtual shopping is highly addictive.
